CAMP VERMILION

Camp Vermilion is located on the west side of Lake Vermilion, near Cook, MN. The rugged terrain and more rustic feel provide an adventurous twist to the daily camp activities. Its proximity to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness helps to shape the Camp Vermilion experience and leaves campers and guests wanting to experience more of this sacred space.

RETREAT FACILITIES

Tucked away in the tall pines on Lake Vermilion, this location offers a true getaway. With plenty of places to explore on our more than 300 acres, you’ll want to make us an annual visit.

(Completed grades 5-6) A balance of familiar camp activities combined with new opportunities are what the Trekker program is all about. Mixed in with favorite camp activities - swimming, games, crafts, canoeing, campfire – are faith conversation that go a bit deeper and more challenging cooking and camping skills are tried.

CANOE CAMP
CANOE CAMP

(Completed grades 5–6, 7–9, 10–12) Canoe camp is the place to both learn the basics and build on your skills. Campers spend time each day on canoeing and camping skills, mixed in among many favorite camp activities. Each age level program includes some type of overnight canoeing and camping experience. We invite you come each year and watch your skills improve as you work your way to a Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness canoe experience.

DIRECTIONS

From Hwy 53 in Cook, turn onto County Road 24 (at the American Bank building). Follow 24 through Cook, cross the Railroad tracks and head out of town for about 2.5 miles. Turn right onto County Road 78 (at the large directional sign). Travel 2.25 miles and turn left onto Luthey Road (at the Camp Vermilion sign). Travel 1.25 miles and turn left into camp.  The driveway is about 7/8 of a mile long.
