Great adventures are waiting for you at the 2008 Hockey Camp

Sponsored by Camp Hiawatha and the coaching staff of Gustavus Adolphus College, led by retired head coach Don Roberts. This will be the 26th year that Camp Hiawatha and Don Roberts have worked together to provide a program which mixes the excitement of hockey camp with the fun of a great Bible Camp.  According to Roberts, "We are blessed to have this opportunity to offer this unique Hockey Camp.  And, this is the 26th year!!  There isn't any other hockey camp around that has its base at a church camp.  We have trained, caring college counselors for off the ice, and well-known respected college coaches for on the ice.  Offering the soccer program is also a unique and perfect blend for training, and the camp itself is beautiful."

Some of hockey camp's highlights:
Three hours of ice time each day, training with head men's and women's coaches from Gustavus Adolphus College
Training time with Gustavus Soccer Coach
Time to enjoy tennis, basketball, swimming, canoeing, and a host of other activities at Camp Hiawatha.
Daily campfire, all-camp games, worship, and small group time for Bible study
Staying in a cabin with other hockey players and a trained Camp Hiawatha summer counselor
This year's theme  -  "Listen God is Calling "

Camp Hiawatha boasts 80 acres of trees, a sandy beach, two tennis courts, a sauna, a low ropes challenge course, and open space for all sorts of great camping activities.  The camp is located 15 miles north of Grand Rapids on beautiful Deer Lake.  Camp Hiawatha is operated by Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry.

Our Goal for the Camp Hiawatha Hockey Camp is to offer young people hockey skills and a Bible camp experience in a setting which is both positive and Christ-centered.  We believe that during the week, the program and staff will exceed your needs and expectations.  If you have questions about the program or activities, please call the VLM office at (218) 666-5465.

Check-in will be on Sunday, June 8th, 3:00-5:00 PM at Camp Hiawatha.  The closing game and camper pick-up will be on Saturday at the ice arena.
