We have reached great progress on the Camp Vermilion Dining Hall since we broke ground just 15 months ago. The entire upstairs is fully functional (with just minimal trimwork left to do) and has been enjoyed by campers, guests, and staff all summer. The water storage tanks, soffit and fascia, outdoor water bottle-filler, thermostats, and downstairs ceiling tile and lights were recently installed. And over the last few weeks volunteers joined Gregg taping, mudding, and texturing the sheetrock walls downstairs in preparation for paint.
We thank our Construction Manager, Gregg Velander, for the progress and success of this beautiful building! Gregg's contract with VLM came to a close this week, and we will miss his leadership and vision on site every day. We thank him for sharing so much of time and gifts with the VLM community and Camp Vermilion this year.
We are now relying on help from volunteers (like you!) to continue the forward momentum of this project:
- Install exterior siding (skilled volunteers)
- Carpentry Work
- Painting Walls
- Installing Carpet Squares
- Building Bunks
- Picnic Tables and Benches
- Tree Cutting
- Screen Panel Assembly
Please contact the VLM office (800-331-5148 or VLM@VLMcamps.org) if you'd like to get involved.
We rejoice the Dining Hall is almost finished, and we are excited to welcome retreat guests to this beautiful new space. But our fundraising goal is far from being complete. Please consider making a gift to move VLM closer to our goal! Click here to make your donation online, or mail your donation to VLM 2555 Vermilion Camp Rd Cook, MN 55723.
