Construction on the Dining Hall at Camp Vermilion continues forward. The kitchen and dining room are already complete and being enjoyed by campers, staff, and visitors every day. The exterior doors have all been installed and the interior doors upstairs have been hung. The septic tanks are in place, and the public restrooms upstairs are in working order as of Friday morning. The downstairs ceiling grid is currently being installed. This means the downstairs lighting will soon be complete, as the lighting is already complete in the shower/bathroom units downstairs. The exterior sconces have also been hung and the wiring is complete and ready for the porch chandeliers. The bathrooms downstairs were tiled last week. The rest of the plumbing and mechanical work will be completed within the next two weeks.
We hope you can come out and see the space yourself. Join us for worship or a meal. We also welcome volunteers to help with:
- Installing Tile
- Carpentry Work
- Hanging Tongue and Groove (exterior)
- Painting Walls
- Installing Carpet Squares
- Building Bunks
- Exterior Siding
- Picnic Tables and Benches
- Tree Cutting
- Screen Panel Assembly
Please let me know if you'd like to get involved.
We rejoice the Dining Hall is almost finished, and we are excited to welcome retreat guests to this beautiful new space. But our fundraising goal is far from being complete. Please consider making a gift to move VLM closer to our goal! Click here to make your donation online, or mail your donation to VLM 2555 Vermilion Camp Rd Cook, MN 55723.
