In-Camp Update

What a wonderful first month of the summer it's been in God's great northwoods! Has it really been a whole month already? Time flies when you're having fun! Also, when you're learning and growing together as our staff was the first two weeks of this summer season. We spent time reviewing songs, games, bible study, and we even got to go on an overnight canoe trip. Some of the big highlights were a visit from Friends on the Range who led us in a night of dancing and our chilly swim and swamp tests. It was fun to get to know each other and camp!

Our first week of campers at Hiawatha were a part of our Hockey Camp program, a week focusing on ice time, as well as, our on-site programming. This week is always a little crazy with multiple ice times to juggle, but we had a great time with Posé on the bus for some and late afternoon lake showers for others. We finished out our time together with a scrimmage in Coleraine, where the campers got to show off their new skills. Our second week was Roseville week, where Roseville Lutheran Church brought a big group up to camp to enjoy some time away from the big city. They were an amazing group with tons of energy and a wonderful knowledge of camp. They loved our new all camp game, EPIC game, where they had to get past Medusa, ogres, and a tricky gnome to get water for their team from Princess Wobbles. The staff was quite sad to see those buses pull out on Friday. We're looking forward to even more fun as the summer continues!
