Into the Woods with Andy

When spring arrives up here in God's great northwoods things really get going.  Mowers, weed whips, rakes, and all of the other fair weather tools come out of their winter hiding places.  It is a good thing to perform some routine maintenance on your yard tools before you get out and really get going on your spring cleaning projects.  An easy place to start is checking the oil on your lawn mowers.  Almost all lawn mowers have a oil dip stick that is clearly labeled where the proper oil level should be.  If the oil is really dark then you should change it.  Changing the oil on these small engines is an easy job for anyone.  Other things to check are conditions of yard tool handles.  Check to see if they are broken, splintering, or if there are any loose parts.  Maintaining your tools can save headaches down the road, and it can also give you a better understanding of how they function.  Our yard tools will be out in full force May 7th at Camp Hiawatha and May 21st at Camp Vermilion.  We hope to see you there.
