VLM is saying goodbye to two dedicated members of our year-round team. Both Kai Abrahamson and Laura (Mills) Anderson will be leaving VLM for new adventures this spring. Both have a long history with Camp Hiawatha and Camp Vermilion and have served in many roles.
Kai will be leaving his full-time position as the Camp Vermilion Hospitality Coordinator May 1st, heading for the Pacific Northwest with his passion for creative food preparation and eco-justice, though you may see him testing out the new kitchen as a guest chef.
Laura will be leaving her part-time position as the VLM Camp Team Coordinator on April 1st to increase her time as the Director of Youth and Family at Zion Lutheran in Cloquet. She will be staying on to help finish her work on the Camp Café at the Synod Assembly and this year's Camp Vermilion Bluegrass Festival. We thank Zion for sharing her talents with us as we have reengaged our churches through the Camp Team initiatives.
Both Laura and Kai go with our prayers and blessings as they take the next steps on their journey. We will miss their love for the campers in God's great northwoods!
