Into the Woods with Andy

Here at Camp Vermilion we are in full swing with campers, counselors, support staff, and volunteers.  We are into the 5th week of camp already and the sound of campers all around us is wonderful.  This place was built to be a summer camp, and carrying on the traditions and activities of this place make camp what it is.  I want to thank everyone who helps make summer camp possible for everyone!

I have been able to find time to get out fishing over the last few weeks, and all I have to say is that the fish are hungry.  Finding them is half the battle, but once you find them, do not be afraid to try many different techniques to get them into the boat.  One of my favorite and easiest ways to fish is with a simple slip bobber and a plain hook tipped with live bait.  This rig is easy to set up and it is very easy to tell when you get a bite.  Slip bobber fishing is effective for all sorts of fish from crappies to walleyes.
