As spring moves into summer, many things that we "see" as normal are changing right in front of our eyes. Change can be exciting and sometimes it can be scary. I have found that most of the time change is a great thing. Sometimes however, it has taken time for me to truly see that change is good. There is a big change happening up at Camp Vermilion these days. If you were at Work Day on May 16, you certainly have seen the change in the landscape where the new Dining Hall will be built. My name is Gregg Velander and I was hired to be the dining hall project manager. I have been working hard to help make this exciting new change happen for Camp Vermilion and for all who will experience this wonderful building. During my many years in both outdoor ministry and in construction I have seen the enormous amount of work that gets done when groups of volunteers rally around a project. Starting this autumn there will be many opportunities for volunteer work groups to put their mark on the new building. I would like to invite all of you that have a desire to donate time and skilled labor to consider working on this project. If you are a person that has the skill and desire, I would love to talk with you and see if we can get you involved.
