Into the Woods with Andy

I am excited to announce that we now have Gaga Ball Pits at both Camp Hiawatha and Camp Vermilion. This spring, thanks to a couple of Thrivent Action Teams, we were able to build one at each site. Gaga Ball is a game that is sweeping through the outdoor camp world like a wildfire. Gaga Ball is believed to have originated in Israel, brought to the U.S. by Israeli summer camp staff coming to work in the U.S.   Gaga ball is played sort of like dodge ball where if you are hit with the ball you are out. But you do not throw the ball; you strike it with an open hand. Also, you must hit the other players below the knees. If they are struck above the knees they are still in. There are a variety of different ways to play, so come and join us! I must admit it is really fun and I will probably spend some time playing Gaga Ball this summer.
