We have campers on site, we have fawns running around with their mothers, and there is a giant hole in the ground out the front door of the dining hall.
Summer is my favorite time of the year here Camp Vermilion. The air is filled with chatter and laughter all over from campers spreading out throughout the site. In the quieter areas, like the campground and the Just-a-Trail system, we have been spotting some new fawns that were just born recently. The mild winter and spring has allowed for a good healthy start for our deer herd.
I am sure you have heard now that our new dining hall build is underway! So far the hill has been excavated and all of the dirt, sand and rocks have stayed right here on site. We made the road a lot wider to accommodate the increased traffic flow. We also almost tripled the size of the staff parking lot to accommodate for more parking for the new dining hall. Our site is looking and running great along with the added commotion of this new dining hall build. Everyone I have visited with here on site is really excited about this whole process. Give me a call (218.780.6529) if you are interested. I would love to tell you more about what is going on.
