We have survived the first arctic blast of cold air of the year up here at Camp Vermilion. We had a week straight of sub-zero high temperature, not to mention the wind chills, which made even short stints outside brutal. Now it's warmed up again. A lot. Last year at this time we were sitting under two feet of snow already, and the polar vortex had its grasp firm on the northland.
We are very excited to spend more time outdoors this winter and roam this property as the deer do. We are anxious to strap on our snowshoes and explore the full loop of our Just-a-Trail system. Winter has its own beauty around here and it is worth it to get out and let your senses go wild.
