These new staff members have been involved in camp since their spouses each joined Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry, but now we are happy to announce that they have been promoted from our favorite volunteers to official staff members!
Jack Soltis has long been a feature at Camp Hiawatha, his wonderful smile greeting you from all around camp. He and Jan have poured so much love and energy into Hiawatha, and now that Jack has retired from the county, he can devote even more energy to camp! You may already have seen the fruit of his labor as he has been cleaning up trees that were downed in the 2012 storm, developed a compost, planted a vegetable garden and herb garden, and has put hours in the flower beds to get them back in good shape. His latest project has been building log benches for our overnight campsites from some of the downed trees on the property. We thank him for the ministry he has already shared and look forward to seeing his even more!
