Mary Thydean, former Camp Vermilion cook and VLM friend, passed away on Friday, Oct 31 surrounded by her family.
This Is truly the end of an era for VLM. Mary, of Mary Bars (energy bar for trail) and the Mary Bar Fund, fed a generation of campers, staff, volunteers and guests. Recently, if something big was happening at camp, Mary was there, whether it was cooking lunch for the annual meeting, feeding Work Day volunteers, or providing pies for the Bluegrass Festival. She will most definitely be missed. We hold her family in our prayers.
"As for me, I am already being poured out as a libation, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 6-8
