| 1. Pay off debt: |
- VLM debt has slowly increased to $418,000 by:

- Operating in "the red" in recent years.

- Aquiring a loan to finish the Dining Hall Renovation at our Camp Hiawatha site. (Licensed work by professionals was required) The work is complete, beautiful, already utilized and appreciated by thousands of campers/retreaters.

- Not able to pay the loan & regular expenditures - hence the interest is draining operating budget.

| 2. Put funds towards the required renovation of Camp Vermilion's Kitchen: |
- VLM is also conducting the "Tend & Nourish" Capital Campaign

- Recently Received a $50,000 Matching Gift! We met the challenge of raising the first $25,000 by the end of 2007 and received $25,000! NOW, the same challenge/opportunity is to be repeated in 2008!! We are greatly appreciative of this generous gift and want to honor their thoughtfulness & encourage your participation in meeting this goal!
- In Addition to the first matching funds - - VLM received $25,000 More in Matching Funds!!! How completely wonderful is the generosity and support of God's ministry at Camp Hiawatha and Camp Vermilion?! The job ahead of us right now is to share the story of camp and the generous matching gifts. This means that each and every single dollar donated toward the campaign is DOUBLED until we reach $75,000!!! And... we all know how pennies, dollars add up quickly with everyone involved.
